How It Works​

Automatic Detection​

Chimr scans your calendar events for video meeting URLs in these locations.

  • Event location field
  • Event description/notes
  • Custom meeting URL fields

Join Meeting Button​

When a video meeting is detected, these features become available.

  • 📹 icon appears in the event list
  • "Join Meeting" button in fullscreen notifications
  • Available 15 minutes before meeting start

One-Click Join​

Clicking the join button performs these actions.

  1. Opens your default web browser
  2. Navigates to the meeting URL
  3. Launches the meeting app if installed

Meeting Preparation​

15-Minute Rule​

  • Join buttons activate 15 minutes before start
  • Gives time for pre-meeting setup
  • Prevents accidental early joins

If an event has multiple links, Chimr handles them as follows.

  • Chimr prioritizes the location field
  • Falls back to description if needed
  • Uses the first valid meeting URL found

Tips for Better Integration​

Calendar Setup​

  • Put meeting URLs in the location field for best detection
  • Include backup dial-in numbers in description
  • Use consistent meeting naming conventions
